My Travel Shoes

Welcome to My Travel Shoes.
Walking the world, one story at a time.

I’ve always believed that travel isn’t about how far you go, but how deeply you experience a place. My Travel Shoes grew out of that idea - a space to share the places that have left footprints on me and maybe inspire a few meaningful journeys of your own.

I’m drawn to places with texture; cities layered with history, quiet coastal towns with character, cafés that seem to hold conversation in their walls. My kind of travel isn’t about racing from one landmark to the next, but about lingering: walking until a city feels familiar, finding the best local bakery, or noticing how the light shifts in late afternoon. Oh, how I love magic hour.

I usually travel with my beau, and together we try to discover as much as possible - not just what’s listed in the guidebooks, but what gives a place its rhythm and soul.

Travel isn’t just an escape from routine or a way to recharge, though it certainly can be that. It’s a chance to learn and to stretch: to taste something new, hear a story you’ve never heard, or see how another culture celebrates the everyday. Every journey invites us to sharpen our curiosity, build new skills, and understand the world a little more deeply. And in those discoveries, big or small, we often uncover pieces of ourselves, too.

You won’t find bucket lists or “must-see in 24 hours” guides here. Instead, you’ll find moments; a mix of design, culture, architecture, and the small details that make travel feel alive. I love discovering how people live, create, and celebrate wherever I go - from markets in southern France to hidden courtyards in Spain, or watching a religious procession wind through a town in Ischia.

I tend to research our destinations thoroughly before we leave, but since we usually rent a car, there’s always room for the unexpected (sometimes delightful, sometimes… character-building).

Travel, for me, is both outward and inward. It’s a way of seeing the world, but also a way of noticing more closely.

If that’s how you like to travel too, with curiosity, appreciation, and maybe a good pair of shoes, then welcome.

You’re in the right place.

P.S. When I’m not travelling, I work part-time and do some freelance web design in Ontario, Canada, which means this site often doubles as my creative sandbox. I’m always experimenting, refining, and learning, so if things look a little different each time you visit, you’re not imagining it.
